Dr. Miranda is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Harvard, she was a four-time recipient of the annual John Harvard Scholarship for academic achievement of highest distinction, and she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the prestigious collegiate national honor society. She then attended the University of Miami School of Medicine where she graduated with selection into Alpha Omega Alpha, which is the highest honor one can obtain during her medical education.
Her exceptional skills as a resident led to her selection as Intern of the Year and later as Chief Medical Resident at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She also has extensive knowledge in the field of Functional Medicine and completed a two-year comprehensive program at the University of Miami. She believes in the important connection between food, gut health, stress, and the immune system.
Dr. Miranda is a former Instructor of Medicine at the University of Miami and continues to teach students there as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Voluntary Faculty. She also teaches Advanced Nurse Practitioner students from NOVA Southeastern University. She has presented research at both local and national medical conferences and has been published in highly respected medical journals.
She was born and raised in Miami, where she lives with her husband and two children. In her free time, she serves as a member of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council and is involved with the Young Professionals of Baptist Health Foundation, and Common Threads children’s charity. Dr. Miranda is also an avid fitness enthusiast and participates in cross and interval training, spinning, yoga, and pilates.
